Dine, Shop, Stay

Concord has three commercial areas with boutiques, restaurants, cafés, snack shops and other eateries: Concord Center (Main & Walden streets), Thoreau Street at the Concord Depot, and West Concord.

Each area offers full and quick breakfasts, cafés for morning coffee or lunch snacks, luncheon places from quick to sit-down, and evening meals from pizza to fine dining,

Concord Center and the Concord Depot on Thoreau Street are within walking distance of most of the sites you may want to visit in Concord. Most of your sightseeing will be in Concord Center near Monument Square, but if you arrive by train at the Concord Depot, you’ll find the Thoreau Street restaurants convenient—and it’s only a 10-minute walk between Thoreau Street and Monument Square.

West Concord 2.7 miles (4.4 km) west of Monument Square on the southwest side of MA Route 2, is its own “village,” with its own MBTA Commuter Rail station. You can ride the train between Concord Center (called Concord East by the railroad) and West Concord.
